| I create most of my work using the ancient lost-wax casting process, at a metalshop in San Francisco's Mission district. Here's a quick summary of lost-wax casting: Each of my floral and figural work is first hand-sculpted in wax. I then create plaster mold around each piece, melt out the wax, and pour molten metal into the mold. I do not have any reusable molds, and therefore, each piece is a true original. |
